After living in Spain for twenty years, Prince Charles-Philippe pursued his studies in political science and international relations in France and Switzerland. His professional career began at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees where he was fundraising manager during the Rwanda crisis in 1994. In 1995, Prince Charles-Philippe joined the French army as officer where he stayed more than 12 years, including numerous missions all over the world in conflict zones and war areas where the French forces were involved on their own or with NATO.
Prince Charles-Philippe decided then on a change of direction towards a career in the private sector, founding a competitive intelligence firm in France, and later a corporate communication firm in Portugal and in Belgium.
In 2016 he was also appointed special adviser to the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
Prince Charles-Philippe received numerous civilian and military distinctions from many countries and international organisations. He has two masters degrees, one in corporate communication and the other in competitive intelligence. He has published four books (novels) in France and in Portugal.
