Tamara Ralph, Co-Chair for the AMA Ocean Ball 2019: Jewels of the Sea, is a world renowned fashion designer. She is the Creative Director and co-founder (with Michael Russo) of the luxury brand Ralph & Russo, a high fashion house that specializes in haute couture, ready-to-wear, luxury goods, and fashion accessories.
Tamara became the first female Creative Director from the UK in nearly 100 years deemed eligible to show during Paris Haute Couture week and one of only three female Creative Directors worldwide eligible to present their collections during this period.
She has been recognised by Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar for her achievements, together with her inclusion into respected lists such as Fortune magazine’s 40 under 40, and the BOF 500. In 2016, Ralph & Russo received the “Outstanding Achievement Award” at the Walpole British Luxury Awards.
Having experienced Baja California’s marine life first hand, Tamara feels a great emotional attachment to both this extraordinary place and its inhabitants. She comments: “We are privileged to know what marine life gives to us and we are privileged to be able to give back to it. It is not only our duty, but our responsibility. The AMA foundation is designed to raise awareness and help preserve the Sea of Cortez and Baja California.”
